Hey, folks, just wanted to let people know that we had six people play in the LOTR tournament at DundraCon - not as many as I'd have liked, but everyone there had a good time.

We played three rounds with slightly modified Legions scenarios. The first was To Kill A King v1.1, which required your king to be your highest point value hero. You got a Major Win if you killed your enemy's king and they didn't kill yours, a Minor Win if you both killed each others king or neither did, but you killed more enemy Heroes than your opponent, and a draw if both kings were killed or neither was killed and an equal number of heroes died.

The second was what I called The Relief Force, which was To The Death but you knew that half of your force would be in the middle of the table and half would be on the table edge, unlike the Legions scenario where you can end up with half of your force face to face with the entire enemy army.

The third scenario was Take and Hold v1.1, where instead of rolling individually for models to enter, before the game you divide your force into quarters and each turn one quarter comes on. There is a 50/50 chance that you pick the spot they come on from, otherwise your opponent picks where they come on from (at least 6" from any corner).

I'd be interested in hearing any feedback about how these scenarios played or other opinions about them.

Best Sportsman: Alex Rawlings playing Easterlings.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out, and I hope to see more people at the next LOTR tournament I run! Speaking of which - who is interested in playing in one? I can try to set up another in a few months.
