The picturesque fishing town of Ilsurian buzzes with excitement as the legendary Umbra Carnival makes its grand entrance. Despite the involvement of the much-maligned Varisian ethnic group, the carnival promises a mesmerizing array of strange and exotic beasts, daring performances, captivating games of chance, and all the other delights of a traveling fair. However, the joyous atmosphere is shattered when a tragic killing occurs in town. A man is found brutally mauled by what appears to be a magical beast, and the Varisians find themselves unfairly accused. Can the party intervene and untangle this web of suspicion before the situation escalates into a truly murderous affair?
