Troubles haunt Appalachian Rail. Weather's hard, the times... but that ain't it. Things gone strange and folks finally talking. Some Appalachians took some of the disappearances personal and one telegraph operator connected with another telegraph operator, and another, and they started trading messages across the lines, tracking down what was wrong. And maybe what was getting tracked down noticed, and folk started... disappearing. The clinker runs through the heart of Appalachia - running dud coal out of the mountains to feed the steam engines and the hunger heading West. You noticed. You have friends who have gone missing. You got yourself onto that train. And whoever THEY are, they reckon you're aboard. 2 Dark nights through the hills where anything could be revealed, could happen, and then the wilds of Tennessee, where anything DOES happen. That's the time you have to solve the mystery of the rails, and keep the dark stain from spreading out of hills and into the West.
